While we are happy to verify your insurance benefits and coverage from your insurance company and file your claims as a convenience to our patients it’s always best to verify this information with your insurance company directly.
If you have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage or no insurance at all, we will be happy to work with you and discuss payment arrangements. Please call 206-623-2225 for more information.
Car accident insurance:
Treatment of injuries related to automobile accidents is often covered 100% by your auto insurance. If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, your auto insurance Personal Injury Protection (PIP) takes precedence over your personal health insurance, regardless of whether you, the driver or passenger, were at fault or not. To verify PIP coverage, call your insurance carrier or claims adjuster.
If you do not have PIP coverage, you may want to use your private health insurance for treatment. In this case, you would be responsible for any balances not covered by your health insurance policy.
If you were not at fault and you wish to use the at-fault parties’ PIP coverage to pay for your care, this is classified as a 3rd Party claim. We only accept 3rd party claims on a case-by-case basis and may require that you sign a medical lien against your settlement to ensure payment to our office once your case settles.
Work Injuries:
Workers Compensation Insurance covers most medical and chiropractic expenses for injuries suffered in an occupational setting. Most injured workers have the right to direct access to chiropractic care, and do not need a PCP or medical doctor referral for 100% coverage of chiropractic and massage therapy treatment costs.
Devine Chiropractic accepts Medicare patients. We do all the billing and will also bill your supplemental insurance, if you have one. Most Medicare patients have up to 24 chiropractic visits available per year if needed. Co-pays are usually less than nine dollars per visit.
Insurance FAQ:
We highly recommend calling the 800-number on the back of your insurance card to have your benefits explained to you before your first visit. Since each plan is unique, we can never guarantee coverage. All we can do is bill out to the insurance company and await their response.
Cost for services will always depend on your individual insurance plan. Each person’s deductible, copay, coinsurance, etc. is different depending on the choices you made for coverage during your enrollment period. Our billers can request coverage benefits from you carrier, but is always best to verify this information with your insurance company directly. Disclaimer: We can never guarantee coverage or payment by the insurance company.
What’s a deductible?
A deductible is the amount of money that you must pay before your insurance company will pay a claim. For example: If your plan specifies that you have a $200 deductible, you are responsible to fully pay for any medical costs up to $200 before your insurance company will pay any amount towards a claim.
Deductibles reset once a year; typically, on January 1st. However, benefits for Amazon employees run from April 1st – March 31st each year.
>What’s a coinsurance?
Some insurance plans include a coinsurance percentage that must be paid after the deductible has been met. Once you have satisfied your deductible, you are still responsible for this percentage of your medical bills. For example: If your coinsurance is 10% and a claim is approved for $62.00, you are responsible for $6.20.
